Terms and conditions

  1. Designs must be original work by the entrant.

  2. The Foundation for the History of Totalitarianism (“The Foundation”) and its trustees reserve the right, at their sole and absolute discretion, to use names and information about participants without obtaining further consent from the participant or providing any payment whatsoever to the participant for any publicity, advertising, or promotion.

  3. The Foundation reserves the right to modify the format and content of the design for production purposes. The creator will be acknowledged.

  4. The winning designs may be published by the Foundation on the website or elsewhere. The winner and two runners-up may be invited to an event in central London in late November or early December to have their prizes presented to them but there will be no obligation for them to do so.

  5. Taking part in the competition implies accepting that the Foundation retains unlimited, non-exclusive rights to reproduction without further compensation.

  6. Any form of plagiarism will result in automatic disqualification. It is the responsibility of the participant to ensure that their design does not infringe the copyright of any third party.

  7. Entrants agree to allow the free use of their names, photographs and general locations for publicity and news purposes if their designs win a prize.

  8. The judges’ decision is final and not subject to appeal. No correspondence will be entered into.

  9. The deadline for receipt of entries is 12 noon (GMT) on October 30th, 2023. Please note that late entries cannot be accepted.
