The competition is open to students in Year 12 or Year 13 during the 2025–26 academic year. For the main prize, students must be resident in the United Kingdom. A separate prize will be awarded for the best essay by a student resident outside the United Kingdom who is in the equivalent academic year.
We prefer essays to be uploaded as Word documents, but PDFs are also accepted.
The deadline for receipt of entries is 12:00 pm (noon) on Sunday 25 January 2026. Late entries cannot be accepted.
